Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is currently an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first position as a production assistant for Univision in Miami that allowed her to be a part of the production team for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. It was the CBS station located in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become the sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she served as reporter for news on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news in English for 9 pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10 pm, and then returned on channel Spanish channel. The duties of anchoring for sports or weather were regularly demanded. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's affiliate station in Dallas. There she had more duties. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was a host of sports for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. She worked in the same position for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an elder sister. She has an older sister. Her parents divorced shortly thereafter and, in the year 1995, she got married to an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. While on a vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University in order to determine if they suited her. It turned out that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it provided the degree she was looking for. When she completed her high school education she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU, of which she is a member. They developed a close friendship. His passion for journalism and confidence in her own abilities instilled confidence in her. She in turn was determined to achieve his expectations and never disappoint him.
